Learn the Basics of Progressive Slots Jackpot
Many slots players have heard about progressive slots and have dreamed about winning their life-changing jackpots. Progressive slot machines are actually individual slots that are linked to each other in a huge network within the casino and often times with other slot machines deployed in a number of affiliated casinos to enable them to pool their pot and build a single gigantic jackpot prize. Every time a player puts in his money bet into one of the slots in the network, a portion of that bet goes to the total jackpot which grows every time a player inserts money in any of the slots belonging to the progressive network. The jackpot prize continues to accumulate and is displayed on the slots console screen so that every player in the network is informed of the status and amount of the prize money. When a lucky player hits the jackpot, the amount will reset and will begin to start anew and accumulate again.
If you think winning the jackpot is easy, think again. Progressive slots are the tightest there is in the casino business. This is understandable because these machines in the network are played simultaneously by hundreds and even thousands of players. Often times, progressive slot machines are operated and controlled by a company other that the casino where these are located. Usually, slots manufacturers and suppliers such as IGT sets up these networks in the casino and is responsible for the operation and payouts of jackpot prizes. In return, the progressive operator shares with the casino a small portion of the profits. There are instances, though, that casinos set up their own progressive networks but since these are relatively smaller in scale these have smaller jackpots and are easier to win.
